SUSTAINABLE WORCESTER AND WORCESTER TRANSITION IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE WORCESTER STATE UNIVERSITY COMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT CORDIALLY INVITE YOU TO ATTEND A MEETING ON SUSTAINABILITY AND GREEN ISSUES IN THE BLUE LOUNGE OF THE STUDENT CENTER AT 2:00 P.M. ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 22, 2012.

BOTH STUDENTS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC ARE INVITED TO ATTEND THIS MEETING.*

PURPOSE: This meeting has three main goals:

One, an inaugural kick-off meeting that serves to promote a major regional sustainable event in the late spring of 2012 that would encompass several groups such as governmental units and non-governmental organizations including social action committees, health and nutrition units, environmental and economic groups, and social and civic clubs.

Two, a public recognition of two outstanding individuals that have served both Worcester State University and the Worcester City/Region in promoting and encouraging green and sustainable issues for the benefit of our society. One of these individuals is the late Daniel Dick, the former Head Librarian of Worcester State University who was instrumental in initiating the Energy Studies curriculum at the school plus a host of items dealing with the general welfare of the school population and the public.

Three, an informal discussion on administrative techniques that serves to promote sustainability and green issues including a brief presentation by Sarah Byrnes of the Institute of Policy Studies on Resilient Circles.
