The first meeting of the Eiber Resilience Circle (‘the Circle’) was on June 6th, 2012. We shared our ideas about the goals of the Circle (build community), how often it will meet (about once a month), the format of meetings (pot luck supper and discussion) and how it will grow and organize itself (very organically!).

DenverPost.Com: Lakewood Program Works to Grow Community in Neighborhoods
Resilience Circle is aimed at encouraging community and sustainability in Lakewood’s many neighborhoods
August 29, 2012, by Emilie Rusch
In a lush, backyard garden in Lakewood, a group of neighbors was talking about how to attract hummingbirds.
Try planting agastache, suggested Tom Slabe, an expert in backyard wildlife habitats. It’s also known as hummingbird mint.
The group was gathered together for a Resilience Circle, part of a new city initiative aimed at encouraging community and sustainability in Lakewood’s many neighborhoods. The small gatherings are intended to bring neighbors together to learn and provide support.
